The Importance of Non-local Awareness in Healing
Dossey MD has become an internationally influential advocate of the role of the mind in health and the role of spirituality in healthcare.
Dr. Dossey is one of those rare physicians with a very distinguished career in internal medicine, including Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital, who has also promoted the importance in healing of what he calls the Soul or non-local mind.
In his book Recovering the Soul, he introduces the “non-local mind” — mind unconfined to the brain and body, mind spread infinitely throughout space and time.
The concept of “non-local mind” has now been adopted by many leading scientists as a new understanding of consciousness.
Dr. Dossey was one of the first in his field to openly acknowledge the power of this non-local consciousness and the role of it with patients who received so called “miracle cures.”
Dr. Dossey’s ever-deepening explication of non-local mind provides a legitimate foundation for the merging of spirit and medicine.
It is this non-local mind which I call the Soul that forms the basis of all my healing work, including the spiritual healings to help autistic children. The soul or non-local mind’s intelligence and knowing what we need for our own good is beyond most of our understanding.
While Dr. Dossey does not address autism or any other specific condition in this video he talks to Deepak Chopra about the importance of non-local awareness.
